With the NFL Combine approaching, many look to impress to earn a top spot in the upcoming NFL Draft in May. Among those's who look to be a first rounder is Derek Carr, who I consider to be the top prospect among the quarterback position. Derek Carr, who is the younger brother of David Carr (former first overall pick by the Houston Texans back in 2002), shows to be NFL ready, with decent size for a pro quarterback, standing at 6'3, 220 pounds, and amazing throwing machinics, delivering powerful and accurate spirals down the field. There is also much upside the fact that he is a clearcut pocket passer (which lessens the chance of injury from running around all the time), however, he is very mobile and has the ability to escape defenders and move around in the pocket with ease. He is one of the few at QB that is a upperclassmen in the draft, which helps with his confidence and decision making not just on the field but off as well. With a incredible stat sheet, putting up eye-popping numbers at Fresno State, a great feel and understanding of the game, and much maturity, it is without a doubt that the best QB in the draft is Derek Carr.
