![]() The NBA MVP race this year has been called one of the best ever. The leaders are Steph Curry of the Warriors, James Harden of the Rockets, and Russell Westbrook of the Thunder. Curry has been the guy that everyone has talked about because he is arguably the best shooter in the NBA along with being a very talented all-around PG. Before the season, James Harden declared himself the best basketball player in the world. This year, he is trying to back that up, and isn't doing a bad job. With co-star Dwight Howard being injured most of the Season, Harden has kept the Rockets up towards the top of the standings. The third guy is Russell Westbrook. Westbrook was injured for a little chunk of the season at the beginning, but ever since he has returned, he has been a straight-up monster. The guy just recently did something that no-one has done since the greatest of all-time, Michael Jordan. He had four straight triple-doubles, the fourth coming while he had a dent in his face and a mask on. The chances of him winning MVP are slim though, because of the time he missed and the way the other two are playing. I recently asked five people who follow basketball who they thought should win, and only one said Harden, one said Westbrook, and the other three said Curry. Unless Curry cools down, or his team starts losing, he has this thing in the bag. There's just nobody in the NBA playing like him this season. Look for Curry to get the MVP and the Warriors to make a deep run in the playoffs and maybe win it all. -Blake McBride, MHS
