Nolan Ryan has made his decision to return home to the Huston Astros. Mr. Ryan first came to the Astros as a free agent right hander for 9 years in 1980 and spent 4 years under service contract. Once again the Astros have called him with the need of help to dig them out of the worst period in franchise history. Ryan previously left the Astros so he could become the CEO of the Texas Rangers in 2008. The rangers had just finished a 75-87 year. But with the help of Nolan Ryan they went to the World Series back-to-back in 2010 and 2011. The big question is can Ryan pull the Astros out of their slump like he did for the Rangers? Ryan said that he plans on working with the big league club and will help out his son who is the president of the Astros. During this up coming session we will have to see if Nolan Ryan will make or break the Astros. - Taylore, Zone Radio
Well I know all you guys remember the game last Thursday with the Miami Heat against the Oklahoma Thunders, and Miami Heat pulling out the victory. During that game, midway through the fourth quarter we all saw that Lebron had went for a drive to the basket, and was hit by Serge Ibaka, and then James dunked over Ibaka and then came down to the ground with a bloody nose. Doctors said that his noes ended up broken. People were questioning if Mr. James would be back for the game against the Chicago Bulls. Lebron James was held out by the Miami Heat on Sunday against the Chicago Bulls because of his broken nose, missing a game for only the second time this season. The Miami Heat ended up taking home the victory against the Chicago Bulls wining 93 to 79 without Lebron James even touching the floor. Mr. James is expected to return in the game of the Miami Heat against the New York Knicks on this upcoming Thursday February 27.
Americans Joss Christensen, Gus Kenworthy and Nick Goepper swept the podium in men's slopestyle skiing. This is the third time in Olympic history that the US has won all gold, silver and bronze in one event. Joss Christensen won the gold, Gus won the silver and Nick won the bronze. That win gave the US a lot more confidence. Joss Christensen lost his father in August, the past 6 months have been filled with grieving and focus to win the gold to make his father proud. He did just that with his 3 off axis jumps at the end of his run which totaled 10 full spins in a span of 15 seconds. Christensen’s first run in the finals produced a 95.80 which is what won him the gold. Not far behind him was Gus Kenworthy who’s final was 93.6. Gus said he wasn’t going to go home empty handed he was planning on bring home a family of stray dog but now he has a silver medal to accompany him along with the dogs. With 92.40 as his final score Nick Geopper took home bronze although he almost leapfrogged Joss and won the gold but with him smacking his skis against the rail he lost the opportunity and ended up with the bronze. All three boys were proud to be supporting the US and plan to be back at the next winter Olympics to do it all over again.

Five years of racing, two years of Sprint Cup Racing, Danica Patrick has had some criticism along the way. Richard Petty had some comments to say “ the only way she would win a race is if everyone stayed home.” Following that Petty’s son had some comments to say that he believes she will never be considered a racecar driver in his eyes. Patrick has said that the comments directed towards her haven’t affected her in a negative way, that her team and her driving is what she has to focus on now. I understand where Petty is coming from, Patrick is just a pretty face for NASCAR and that’s how people’s perspective of her is. Patrick hasn’t had the experience that everyone else has and that is a fault of her, she needs to go back to the IRL take the experience that she has had from Sprint Cups and learn from it. Show people that she isn’t just a girl who wanted to go from the things she modeled for to the girl who races them. She wants people to be supportive when she’s given them nothing to go off of, and coming back with experience will be what gets her to the top.
There are so many different types of sports in the Winter Olympics, but should they all be considered a "Olympic" sport? Biathlon, which is a sport that combines cross country skiing and riffleshooting some people believe this shouldn't be considered a sport. I would say different only because a lot goes into that, yes it's a very strange sport, but it obviously takes a lot out of you. Curling, I don't believe should be a Olympic sport too me it is very boring to watch and not a lot of action can happen, people don't come to watch that sport. Ice fishing, I 100% agree this activity shouldn't even be considered a sport. It's a hobby, people go fishing for fun not for a legit sport and I believe is a waste of time and money for the Olympics. Snowboarding should defiantly be considered a Olympic sport, it is interesting, it's fast pace, people enjoy watching it. There is a lot that goes into picking the sports that go into the Olympics, reevaluating some of them is needed. -Kennedy Kirtley
With the NFL Combine approaching, many look to impress to earn a top spot in the upcoming NFL Draft in May. Among those's who look to be a first rounder is Derek Carr, who I consider to be the top prospect among the quarterback position. Derek Carr, who is the younger brother of David Carr (former first overall pick by the Houston Texans back in 2002), shows to be NFL ready, with decent size for a pro quarterback, standing at 6'3, 220 pounds, and amazing throwing machinics, delivering powerful and accurate spirals down the field. There is also much upside the fact that he is a clearcut pocket passer (which lessens the chance of injury from running around all the time), however, he is very mobile and has the ability to escape defenders and move around in the pocket with ease. He is one of the few at QB that is a upperclassmen in the draft, which helps with his confidence and decision making not just on the field but off as well. With a incredible stat sheet, putting up eye-popping numbers at Fresno State, a great feel and understanding of the game, and much maturity, it is without a doubt that the best QB in the draft is Derek Carr.

Spring training is underway in Arizona and Florida for all 30 MLB teams. Of course, the Texas Rangers manager Ron Washington has a different team to work with. With the Rangers trading Ian Kinsler to Detroit for 5 time All Star, Prince Fielder. The Rangers also picked up Shin-Soo Choo from the Cleveland Indians in free agency. 2 outfielders from last year will not be on the Rangers which is David Murphy, who went to the Indians, and Nelson Cruz not getting resigned by the Rangers because of his PED use and suspension last year. Just today, Ron Washington gave out a line up of the batting order and starting positions. It looks like this. 1. Shin-Soo-Choo OF, 2. Elvis Andrus SS, 3. Prince Fielder 1B, 4. Adrian Beltre 3B, 5. Alex Rios OF, 6. Mitch Moreland DH, 7. Geovany Soto C, 8. Jurickson Profar 2B, 9. Leonys Martin OF. And starting pitcher of course will be ace Yu Darvish. Not a bad starting line up to me. To say the least, this years season for the Rangers will be a interesting one to watch.

I hope you guys are ready for the upcoming NFL Combine on Feb. 22, it goes on for four days "but the most hypoed participants will go through the gridiron gauntlet of workouts within the first three days at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis."-says ESPN. I have to say this might be the most interesting year in the hope you guys are ready for the upcoming NFL Combine on Feb. 22, it goes on for four days "but the most hypoed participants will go through the gridiron gauntlet of workouts within the first three days at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis."-says ESPN. I have to say this might be the most interesting year in the combine because of the astonishing players especially, the upcoming quarterbacks. The quarterbacks some of the big college names that include Johnny Manziel and Derrick Carr who we don’t know but might try to fill his big brothers’ shoes as quarterback for the Houston Texans. Just try and stay calm, I know what you want. You’ll just have to wait till Feb. 22. - TJ Sims, Overtime Radio
It's been a tough road for the Seattle Mariners, as they have been the division punching bag of the AL West for years (which is now to be taken over by the Houston Astros), posting four straight losing seasons and have yet to reach the postseason since 2001. After having a bad season in 2013, going 71-91, they started their offseason spending, with the addition of second baseman and former Yankee, Robinson Cano to a 10-year, $240 million deal within the opening months of free agency frenzy.
Along with Cano, they also signed solid veterans, Corey Hart (1B/OF) and John Buck (C), off of free agency. Their latest major signing is reliever Franando Rodney, as the right-hander agreed to terms on a two-year, $14 million deal, and will be the starting closer for the club. Along with the big signings, they also can aspect solid rookie seasons from Taijuan Walker and James Paxton, who will be joining the starting rotation with big names, Felix Hernandez and Hisashi Iwakuma. With all the pieces falling into place, are the Seattle Mariners a prime contender for the 2014 season? Only time will tell.
